Clementine Hunter lived on Melrose Plantation for most of her life. The plantation had large pecan orchards, and in this scene Clementine captured the work of threshing the trees and picking up the pecans that fell from the trees. Clementine shows a teenager hanging upside down to shake the trees so the pecans could fall to the ground for the ladies to pick up and place in their buckets. Each Christmas ornament is hand sculpted and hand painted. No two ornaments are exactly alike. Each piece has its own distinctive shape and textured surface that allows you to feel the passion in her work. We hope you will enjoy these collector quality hand blown glass keepsakes for years to come. Each ornament arrives in a stunning gift box for gift giving and safe storage. A percentage of the proceeds of each sale goes towards the preservation and interpretation of the Clementine Hunter House on Melrose Plantation, A National Historic Landmark.
